Someone tell me about non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that is understandable.?

This is a very complex question. In your body you have one system that carries nutrition to tissue and two that carry waste away. Your veins and lymphatic system carry the waste. Inside the lymphatic system are some cells that became malignant (their programs got messed up and they keep replicating even though they shouldn't.) These cells get lodged in the lymph nodes which are designed to filter lymph. Most often the first area noticed is in the groin, under the arm, or in the neck. The prognosis for survival depends on how many nodes, their size, if the nodes are on one side of the diaphragm or both, and if the cells are in the bone marrow. With chemotherapy and/or radiation, many people go into complete remission and live healthy, happy lives. I hope this helps you.

Basically its a cancer of the lymphoid tissue,
since lymphoid tisue can be found everywhere in the body (especially lymph nodes) then this disease can affect any part of the body ( & again especially lymph nodes)
mortality is linked to the stage of the disease i.e. how many sites are involved like lymph nodes, spleen, liver & other sites.
treatment is mainly chemotherapy & radiotherapy.
Anyhow it doesnt kill you immediatly but take some longer time than other cancers.
I hope every patient will get well soon.
NB: r u gonna choose me as the best answer? please.

It is a cancer that begins in the lymphatic system.
There are two main types of lymphoma: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Most lymphomas are non-Hodgkin lymphoma and only about 1 in 5 are Hodgkin lymphoma.

The best thing I can tell you is my own story. I survived it! There are many variations though. Try this site for info:

Mine was diffuse large B Cell NHL, and it was an aggressive cancer. Aggressive cancers usually respond well to treatment, and mine did. Best wishes to you.
