Swollen lymph nodes and fatigue not going away?

Just looking for some opinions here since I've scared myself. I had bronchitis 5 weeks ago and took 10 days of Biaxin. Everything but the fatigue and achiness has gone away and 2 1/2 weeks ago a lymph node in my neck under my ear swelled up. It got so painful that I went to the ER and they gave me 10 days of Cipro. I took for a week but the dizziness and nausea was too much for me so I went to my ear, nose and throat Dr. My lymph nodes no longer hurt but he's concerned that I have no throat, sinus, ear infections and I'm not responding to the antibiotics so he ordered a CT scan, as well as gave me 2000 mg a day of cephalexin. I'v been so tired and achy that I'm fed up. I've also lost 14 lbs. in 3 weeks. I still eat what I normally would but my appetite is slightly decreased. I worry because my grandfather has Non Hodgkin's lymphoma and his started with a lump in the same place. Am I worrying too much about this??? Thanks in advance. Sorry my question is so long.

I had lymph node infections. It turned out to be an infection in my blood. After a week of amoxillian it cleared up. You may be allergic to Cipro. I was allergic to Erythromycyn. The erythromycyn made me sicker than what I went to the doctors in the first place. See if your new medicine works for you. I would give it at least a week before calling the doctor back up. Try not to worry yourself about Non Hodgkin's disease.

I don't think anybody should answer this question. Your family history is warning you to have your symptoms checked by your doctor. Do not ignore your inner feelings on this one.
Problems diagnosed early have a greater chance of being resolved. Go to your doc TODAY.

I would highly recommend going to your doctor!

You could have mononucleosis (mono).

The symptoms of mono are that of a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes. Other symptoms include mild to extreme fatigue, fever, headache, chills, muscle aches, and loss of appetite. If you think these symptoms are in line with what you have, you should get a blood test to verify. Results usually come within 48 hours.

Unfortunately, mono is a virus and cannot be cured with antibiotics. If you have mono make sure to get plenty of rest, eat a well balanced diet, increase fluid intake to guard against dehydration, and gargle with salt water to relieve sore throat pain (1/2 teaspoon of salt in 8oz glass of warm water).

The symptoms begin to subside in six to ten days, and you should be up and around within three weeks. In some cases, fatigue and weakness may linger on for two or three months. Make sure to rest up!

I'd have them check for mono.

I had a sore throat just as sore throat..I took a course of antibiotics...then a week later I had another sore throat and the culture test still came back negative for strep. My lymp nodes were so huge..all I had to do was turn my head and you could make them out...it was bad, they actually felt like they were bruised from staying so big...and I was so tired all the time...so tired. The doctor drew my blood on a hunch that it could be mono. It was. I took a super strong antibiotic and was fine.

My symptoms only lasted two weeks(because of the antibiotic...it didn't cure the virrus though)...and all I had was super big,so sore lymp nodes and tiredness. So it is possible to have it and not have bad symptoms....it's like a super strep throat strain...and normally is bad and lasts for a month to a month and a half.

I would have them check that out before you worry. If it's not that or something else simple like that then you have the right to worry by all means. Untill then if you are sick then worrying doesn't help your body fight infections...it can infact make many worse..so...
