Nicotine patches and nicotine lozenges?

Im trying to quite smoking and today i tried the nicoderm cq patches today which were 21mg. I got really sick to my stomach and had to take it off. I have another option here using the commit nicotine lozenges. They r 2mg. Does anyone know if the lozenges will make me sick to my stomach too. I know the patches were to strong but i want to know how much nicotine is in one cigarette and if 2mg is high?

Quitting smoking is not as hard as you would think. 4 months ago quit. I went to my Doctor and she gave me The 21mg patch. When she gave it to me she said two things 1 it will probably make you a bit sick to your stomach at first if you smoke a light brand of Cigs. 2 if you wear the patch and smoke at the same time it can cause heart failure...so needless to say i was scared.....I also took Wellbutrin a prescribed pill that will help you deal with the cravings and the nic-fits. I was unaware that when you take Wellbutrin after about 4 days your cigs taste really really bad to the point that you no longer crave for one simpley because they are no longer enjoyable...I know that this may not be an option for you however, If it is do not waste your time using patches or lozenges...I Only used the patch one day and stayed on the Wellbutrin for 3 months....Sorry I am long winded but nicotine replacement just delays your bodies detox if you quit cold turkey with help dealing with the emotional aspect you will be much better off....I PROMISE!!

welbutrin sucks Report It

helpful for some deadly for others

You should try Chatix (chantix.com). As a family doc, I have had patients try just about everything to quite smoking- patches, wellbutrin, lozenges, hypnosis and more. Chantix has a 40% quite rate at 3 months and 70% at 6 mos.

I have tried it all the patches, the lozenges even the inhaler and nothing helped me quit. Then on May 9th of 2006 I just stopped and have not smoked again. It is/was the best thing that I have ever accomplished in my life and there have been many. Do not stop trying to quit. It will be the best thing for you also even if you have an upset stomach for a bit. Smoking them kills, nothing more needs to be said. I now run 5K every morning and am in the best condition of my life. Keep after it, never give up and you will quit also. Good Luck and I know that you can and will dump the bull s*#t habit.

Patches aren't for everybody, but they worked well for me, and helped me very much, even though I lost my quit. Had it not been for patches (and inhalers), my quit would have been over before it started. I moved mine around a bit, during the day I wore a 21 mg, and at night, I slept with a 7 mg. Even though I'm smoking again, I'll still wear a 7 mg to bed on Friday night; Saturday morning is the one morning of the week I don't have to set an alarm clock, and I always hate it when I could sleep in a bit, but the cravings start screaming.
