The level of nicotine in cigarettes keeps rising.? |
Tobacco company records in the 1950s and 1960s show that they successfully bred tobacco plants that had higher concentrations of nicotine, and sold the seeds of these plants to farmers. Nicotine levels rose during the 1970s and 1980. I've done a lot of reading on the subject, as I know people who are hooked, who want to stop, but find they cannot. I am a smoker, and have been desperately trying to stop. I can't go cold turkey because I end up taking it out on everyone else, and typically while I can accept that adults probably wouldn't mind me doing this, I really don't know how to justify taking my withdrawal out on my 6 year old daughter. Therefore, I tried nicotine patches. I was dreadfully sick, so the doctors told me to stop using them. The same thing happened when I have used nicotine gum, and also the inhaler. all they are doing is giving the customer more for there money It has long been known that cigarettes are nothing more than a delivery vehicle for nicotine; this was one of the big results of the tobacco hearings of decades ago and was a shocking revelation when it first came out. Thus, cigarettes are a means of satisfying a drug addiction which they created in the first place. from one non smoker to another.........its called money if you have it you can get away with anything you want Smokers are such whimps. OK, it may be harder to stop smoking that to quit heroin, but people do that. OK, it may be your genes that make it more difficult for some to quit than others, but people still do that. |
