Chantix/Nicotine withdraw ?? |
Quit smoking on day 8 of chantix, quit taking the med on day 14 because I constantly felt drunk/ stoned! On day 11 of no smoking :) and day 4 without chantix and suddenly going thru crazy nicotine withdraws, dizzy, light headed, etc...how can this be on day 11 not smoking ??? I'm not craving a smoke, I'm just light headed, unfocused, etc...anyone else experience this once they stopped taking the chantix ? It's like a delayed withdraw !!! Thought the nicotine left your body in 5 days !?!?! I just stopped taking chantix 2 weeks after I quit smoking and I did not get any side effects. I would just deal with them for a couple of days and see if it stops. I think chantix takes a couple of days to get out of your system so that might be it. Its better than smoking isn't it. I did the Chantix thing and it worked wonders for me... however I didn't stop it early like you did. You should probably pick back up on it and finish out the script and use it as directed then maybe you wouldn't experience the side effects. I have tried Chantix three times, took my last dose, one week ago. I had been on it for three months, without any bad side effects, mine was a calming feeling. I've smoked almost throughout the treatment, say one, maybe two a day. I could never get down to zero, and once the pills were gone, I was right back at it. At this point, I give up on Chantix, and will have to find a way to get the strength and motivation to kick it. I have always heard that the third and tenth days, were the worst for cravings, so day 11 isn't far off. Good luck to you, I hope you succeed! Your Chantix side effects should lessen over time. For more Chantix information, please click the following link: http://www.121doc.com/champix.html?a_aid... you could very well poss. be going thru withdraw, not nec. from nicotine, but from the meds. since you quit the drug so early you are reopening the receptors and its similar to sending a signal to your brain that you have quit cold turkey. either reintroduce to drug, or deal w/ the side effects for about 3 days (getting easier each day) this is partitally the reason why they reccomend staying on the drug for 12 weeks. |
