Nicotine Replacement Therapy?

I'm just curious, The patches,Gums, inhalators etc, The contain the same amount of Nicotine as a cig but with me anyway they just dont do the trick, They just dont scratch the itch so to speak. Do you find this?

None of the replacement therapies will work without the added ingredient of WILLPOWER. If you are just paying 'lip service' to wanting to give up - well, it wont work. Sometimes it takes several attempts over a period of time, just do not give up giving up! I had tried all sorts, along with Zybane (which I found gave me sleep disturbance, a dreadfully dry mouth and only worked for a short period of time). Eventually, due to breathing problems, I knew it had to be done and I bought Lozengers CQuitin, - not only did they definitely help me but as you just pop them in your mouth and leave them to dissolve (they are minty) it was not problem, added bonus is you cannot eat with one in your mouth hence I did not put any weight on either lol. Good luck, I know other peoples successes will not necessarily be yours but please stick with it.

yes your right in what you say they just dont do it for me either why dont you try zyban it does away with you cravings totally it worked for me it was so easy to give up

They are useless because the smoking addiction is mainly psychological. When I quit I bought the gum and was told I need to chew 10 pieces a day for 3 months, but I chewed 2 or 3 pieces and found them disgusting. You need to stop cold turkey, after a week (often sooner) you will no longer be addicted physically but the psychological addiction lasts forever so you could start again, especially if people around you smoke.

They work for some people, but not everyone. My dad tried a few different types & none of them worked or him.
My mum however, has tried the gum, patches & inhalators and they all worked for her, but she then forced herself back onto it!
The last time she tried to quit she had patches, but doubled it up now & again with an inhalator ( don't worry, the head of her cesation class said it would be ok).
Once agian she forced herself back onto it. Now though she's trying a new drug called Champix (UK). She's finding it a great help. It doesn't have the same side effects as Zyban (terrible side effects, very scary!). She's been off for a few months now & still can't stand the smell of smoke & the thought of putting a ciggy inher mouth makes her feel sick!
I also know people who swear by the accupuncture & hypnosis methods of quitting.
you could try these I guess, but you may just have to go cold turkey & give it up on oyur own!

there are somem other thangs u can try to stop smokin and if 1 patch dont help use 2 or 3

It's all money making stuff. If you are really serious about quitting, than do it cold turkey. The nicotine will be out of your body after 72 hours. Patches or no patches, you will have cravings no matter what, but those will go away after 2 minutes. I have quit cold turkey many years ago and you will have some bad headaches the first couple of days. The first 3 days might be the hardest, because you will become very edgy, but just think about the benefits.
Congratulations on quitting smoking and the thrive to live a longer happier life.
