Is niacin a safe way to detox your body? |
I've heard from several sorces that taking niacin is a safe and easy way to detox the body in a short period of time....some say to include cranberry extract...is any of this true/reliable? yes and yes, but if you take niacin be ready for the side effects like a very uncomfortable albeit brief rash all over the body and an extreme heat flash. it goes away in like 15 min though. But this will not be a full detox. Niacin is used to prevent or take care of niacin deficiency (pellagra). which can come from alcohol abuse, drug use, poor diet and other things. it will take care of problems caused by certain substances and circumstances but im not sure it is a full detox. Detox your body from what? Niacin (vitamin B3) is needed for proper circulation and healthy skin. It aids in the functioning of the nervous system, in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and in the production of hydrochloric acid for the digestive system. It is involved in the normal secretion of bile and stomach fluids, and in the synthesis of sex hormones. Niacin lowers cholesterol and improves circulation.
