Neuropathy question?

When upon waking my hands feel like they have fallen asleep, pins & needles, much numbness, very uncomfortable sensations and it takes at least twenty minutes before this dilemma shakes off...... could these be symptoms of neuropathy... being that diabetes has been ruled out... this is five days in a row now? Any suggestions?

there is a cure for it. but the cure may be worse than just dealing with it depending on how much it bothers you.

Bilateral Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) is a possibility. Multiple cervical disc herniations is another possibility. Have you ever had an injury to your neck? Car Accident? Sports injury? Fall? Horse play as a child? etc.?

TOS is a common sequela to soft-tissue injuries of the neck. It leads to compression of the 'neurovascular bundle' as it passes through the neck and shoulder and into the arm/hand. TOS is the number one 'differential diagnosis' for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. Sadly, most docs know very little about this common syndrome and that is why so many carpel tunnel surgeries are total failures (they mis-diagnose TOS as carpel tunnel syndrome).

You may want to consult with your family Chiropractor for a thorough evaluation.

P.S. Any BILATERAL upper extremity condition must be evaluated for a central cause - the cervical spine. Bilateral peripheral neuropathies (especially carpel tunnel syndrome) rarely occur without a central cause.

My best friend was a miraclebaby,and was born with Neuropathy. She has suffered with it and delt with it all her life.

However, your symptoms do match hers in some way- but your symptoms are also very common in another stage of diabetes i think.
i dont think it is anything too serious or dangerous to your health, but i would still call the doc just in case..
