Neuropathy - Massage? |
I have had neuropathy for about 2-1/2 months now. I am considering a body massage at our local spa thinking it may help my circulation and thereby helping the neuropathy. Has anyone tried this and did it help them at all. The girl who does massages wants me to get a clearance from my doctor - that is reasonable but I can't see any downside to a body massage. I have had them in the past with no problem. Yes I have neuropathy in my feet all the way up to my hips. Was diagnosed with it several years ago. The reason why the lady will want a consent is so that your doctor is aware of what you are doing, and in case he might have specific instructions for the massage therapist. Diabetics have to be careful with this sort of thing, as well as manicures and pedicures. Because of the neuropathy, we don't feel things as others without it do. |
