Is homeopathy effictive for neuropathy? I am a therapist in alternative medicine and we have to go through many types of training. This is a group of diseases of peripheral nerves not associated with inflammation. They are classified as Parenchymal=several neurones are affected & Interstitial = a single neurone is affected. There is a new drug out called cymbalta. These is used for pain and depression caused from neuropathy. Neurotin is another med that is used. Baclofen is for muscle spasm caused from neuropathy. Talk with his doctor. I was diagnosed with neuropathy ( peripheral neuropathy ).I am taking Pain medications and neurontin. but neither seems to help. I cannot even get answers from my doctors. Id like know. is it a progressive disease. its in my feet and top of my hands and my face. it seems to be spreading. sometimes i feel like i could frie eggs on the bottom of my feet.and my face feels like i have been slapped really hard. its a bad disease. they say they have support groups for people like us. dr wanted me to take pamelor and lyrica, my advice to you is before you fill any type prescriptions. look them up on yahoo health. the side effects of these two drugs the list is really long. and its bad too. the side effects are way worse than the neuropathy. id like to talk with this woman above me that says she works with them. if you read this nur se email me if you would plz. I get fair pain releif from Neurontin..Just enough to take the edge off the pain so I can sleep. I've tried Cymbalta and Lyrica and for me Neurontin gives the best relief although it's not optimal. But this is worth looking into: I am going to have a triple nerve release procedure done soon by my podiatrist. It has reported nearly 90% success rates. It releases trapped nerves from ligaments in legs and feet. A diabetic's nerves are more prone to the compression due to the damage done from the metabolic disorder. This is the new hope we've been waiting for! It is reported to relieve pain, restore sensation, and greatly lessen the risk of ulceration and amputation. I'm thrilled! I hope it works for me and all the other sufferers of this horrible, horrible pain...Best of luck tricyclic antidepressants or neurontin for the pain, it is amitryptilline 10 mg at bedtime(no walking around after that, you might feel dizzy and unbalanced). |
