What is neuropathy,,what are symtoms?

sister, began falling, was told by a doctor she has MS, but she has none of the symtoms of others in her group, ha benn told by healthcare providers, she should seen other answers, her present symtoms mimic exactly those of neuropathy.........

Neuropathy describes a condition in which a person suffers from peripheral nerve damage often associated with an underlying disease (aforementioned MS in your case).

The symptoms of neuropathy are usually the only method of diagnosis. One might suffer sensations similar to decreased circulation in the extremities, such as numbness, ranging from mild to severe, and pins and needles. Limbs feel alternately burning hot and icy cold, accompanied by sharp or dull pain and muscle fatigue. These feelings are associated with reduced fine motor coordination, possibly leading to paralysis at the worst extreme.

I too have suffered from neuropathy. The symtoms are numbness or a tingling sensation in either the feet or hands. In my case it was in my left foot where sometimes I still have numbness when walking long distances. I had cancer and chemo treatments in 95 when I first noticed mine. My left foot hurt and it almost felt like frostbite. I could hardly walk and I am still a young man. My symtoms have improved but I am seriously considering checking a google site to see if there is any healthcare provided for this condition, All the best to you and your sister. Ibelieve it is caused by nerve damage.

MS is a disease that has relapsing and remitting symptoms...it can mimic a neuropathy...its hard to diagnose, only a neurologist can diagnose it...cause its time dependent, if she has symptoms and sees a doctor, then it can be diagnosed via CT scan...

Neuropathy usually shows numbness and tingling...more pain in the nerves due to stimulation...MS has transient blindness, random paralysis that resolves over time...but many things can casue a neuropathy...most common is diabetes mellitus 2nd to small blood vessels to the nerves getting blocked off...

neuropathy just means a disturbance in the nerves...you need more information here.
But I'd tend to believe a doctor..sorry.
