Could parathesia caused by fibromyalgia be mistaken for diabetic neuropathy? |
I have a friend that seems to think that she has diabetic neuropathy however her symptoms don't seem to really follow the paths of diabetic neuropathy. She does also have fibromyalgia and I understand that one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia is the pain and tingling in the hands. Since that is her primary site I am wondering if the pain is actually part of her fibromyalgia. More than likely it the fibromalgia . . . diabetic neuropathy is more severe. I have had fibromalgia pain and I have had diabetic neuropathy symptoms induced by Topamax. There is a difference inseverity and the number of different sensations in the extremities. Diabetic Neuropathy is unrelenting and has more senations making it difficult to ignore. Needless to say, I stopped the Topamax. your idea makes sense I also have fibromyalgia, parathesia is very common. I have it in arms and legs. But now I'm learning it is a circulatory problem that was overlooked due to fibro. Your friend should have a thorough examination It could be mistaken but the diabetic neuro. not always associated with pain |
