I have neurofibromatosis.?

i was born with nf also knows as neurofibromatosis.. okay what my question is i want to have a baby soon . i would like to know is every thing be okay with me ? i have the mild type. i have the birth marks on my body and some fibroms . but will my body change i mean get worse . please help if anyone who has neurofibromatosis. i would love to here from you .

It would be at your own choice, though you can still have babies with NF. There are a couple of things you should know. One is if you have NF and are pregnant, your NF can get worse while your pregnant. Also there is a 50% chance of you passing it down to your child.

With my pregnancy my tumors got bigger and spread. It did not affect my pregnancy though. My child shows no sign of the disease thankfully! Also because of the disease I was not able to breastfeed because of the tumors on my breast. I wish you good luck though! Report It

There is No problem with having a baby, everything will be alright, just enjoy your pregnancy & dont worry as this condition has nothing to do with pregnancy or reproductive organs.

you have a 50/50 chance of passing it on to your child.. and there are some genetic testing you can do to see if you've passed it on.. its a blood dna test.. then they test the prenatal fluid inside to see if the fetus has it too...

as for your health i don't think there are any problems.. as i have NF and i've looked into some what.. but my main concern was passing it on to my kids.. as i dont' want to have put my kids threw the self eestem issues i have threw it..
