Is anyone here familiar with Neurofibromatosis? |
I have Neurofibromatosis. A genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on the nerve endings. One out of 4,000 people have this disorder, and it is difficult to meet others who have it. So I was wondering how many people are familier with it. I have had 6 large tumors removed from my body, and have been thought to have Neurofibromatosis, but all doctors involved in my treatment couldn't agree on a diagnosis. My tumors have been sent to the Mayo Clinic and the Air Force. Even they could not provide a definitive diagnosis for me. The last tumor I had removed was in 1992, and have not had any since. My best guess is, it's the Neurofibromatosis. I have a large mass on my right upper part of my leg, it hurts like heck, comes and goes, can be a sharp pain, other times it feels like a pinch. ... I have it. I to have the pins and needle feelings and sometimes the numbness, feeling which led to me getting another one of those fun MRI's which they found tumor pressing against my spine ar... At NO POINT during my consultations have they ever mentioned MS and I hope they never do. We have enough to contend with!! I do however, get the odd bout of pins and needles NF Sufferer. ...My son has NF1, and has had surgeries (one very major), but none for aputation. I don't know how old you are, but the Childrens Tumor Foundation has a chat room for kids and teens with NF t... Sorry to ask spud but what NEUROFIBROMATOSIS? ...It sounds like your NF is causing some problems for you, mainly discomfort while breastfeeding. What remains to be seen is if the NF is causing your low breast milk production. If the nerve impulse... In about 5% of cases it can be. I have neurofibromatosis, just last week I had 35 neurofibromas removed.
