Neurofibromatosis in infant?

: i was born with nf and so was my father and brother next week the 18 i am having my son tested how can this be done in a 4 month old and how soon will the results be back.

i was not tested when i started school they saw the nf spots on me and told me then that i had it

don't mind my spelling as i have a ld and of course can't spell but if yahoo answers had spell check for the questions then it would be easyer to read my writing.

the web site says lab testing but it does not saw how its done ( arm or other)

No idea. I was born with it and it was always believed I had it, but none of the test that were done were ever conclusive, not until I was 15. But I would assume, they would be able to tell with blood work. I'm almost 24, so testing for it probably has gotten better.

No one in my family has it, expect for maybe a very distant cousin on my moms side of the family.
