Have you heard of neurofibromatosis, I have it, my question is why are people so cruel and say mean things?

Have you heard of neurofibromatosis, I have it, my question is why are people so cruel and say mean things?

I think most people have seen it. Neurofibromatosis is a disfiguring disease causing fibrous tumors throughout the body in the nerves, skin, and bone. It is caused by gene mutation and you can be born with it or develope it as you grow. It can be mild to severely debilitating.

People who criticize and look down on others are unhappy individuals. It is an indication of their overall view of the world. Some do it just because they see others do it and think they are supposed to, but they will see that it is wrong and stop. Either way, these people feel bad about their own lives and doing this does not make them feel better, only worse. Pity them and have patience with them, perhaps educate them with an information pamphlet. Once they see you are another individual and that it is just a disease that you didn't ask for, they will have more understanding and behave better. Putting this question out is a step in that direction. Thanks.

My fiancee has neurofibromatosis. I'm sure that she would gladly communicate with you about it. Her e-mail addy is:im2much4u72@yahoo.com. I'm sorry you are going through so much. Report It

what?

People are cruel and say mean things because that is how alot are.....
As for your condition- no I've never heard of it.

I am stunned! It is beyond belief how people can be so ignorant and rotten. They obviously wouldn't have a clue how you are suffering. It's easy to tell someone to "just ignore it".

Just for your information, I work with a research and development company who has pioneered a science. It is causing one heck of a stir around the world, tens of thousands of scientific paper written about it already. It may be something which can be of help to you.

If you would like some information, please don't hesitate to contact me, i can always refer you to a colleague of mine who is very much an authority on this kind of thing.

Finally, when someone does make a stupid remark, just think to yourself how they are going to feel when they become sick (they are obviously so ignorant that they will surely not have a clue how to look after their own health anyway). They are the people who usually fall apart, rather than cope with something like Neurofibromatosis. One day you will get the last lauch, I'm sure.

Take care now, all the best to you.

Have heard of it but interested in how you would describe it. Most people are mean because they want to detract attention from their own imperfections, immaturity, they have a misconception that pulling you down makes them popular & own low self worth. None of these reasons are excuses. There is no reason for rudeness. Some people are just inconsiderate and don't honestly realise they are any different. They are the ones that need to be called names.

Its a genetic disorder that cause tumors to grow along types of nerves and can affect the development of non-nervous tissues such as bones and skin. People are afraid of what they don鈥檛 understand. And first impressions are lasting. Knowing this, when people see you for the first time, they always get the wrong impression so they are scared and say mean things. Once they learn what your conditions are they could appreciate you as a person. But this is not always the case, some people are generally nice and don鈥檛 care about looks, However, this is only a few percent of the population. The best thing to do is shrug it off and move on. Just know in your heart that are loved.

Isn't that what the boy in the movie "MASK" had ?? If so, and, if you even saw it, remember his outlook on life ? If you haven't seen it, please DO.Anyway, as HARD as it is, remember GOD made you this way for a SPECIAL reason. Only YOU can ultimately make yourself happy in life. People make "comments" and are MEAN due to IGNORANCE and FEAR....of the "unknown". If it's at all possible, try to approach them by asking if they have any questions about your condition. Try to ease their "uncomfortability", children especially. If the parents are fearful and IGNORANT, the children will be as well. Let them see that the outside is merely a "shell", like a turtle. There's something "cute and adorable" on the inside.Anyways.... unless someone has walked in YOUR shoes, they can't possibly begin to know how YOU feel. Inner beauty is truly a GIFT so, let them in and get to know YOU. PLEASE, don't let SOCIETY run your life. YOU were put here to do GOOD as GOD chose YOU to be SPECIAL !!!! Sorry, and NO I'm not some Evangilistic FREAK ... just somebody who has realized ALOT of things too late in life.

Please see the webpages for more details on Neurofibromatosis.
