I have cafe au lait and also neurofibromatosis. What are the chances of my child have cafe au lait and/or NF1? |
i know its a 50% chance for my child to have NF1 but i need to know the chances on my child having cafe au lait It has autosomal dominant inheritance pattern. So, assuming your spouse does not have neurofibromatosis and is recessive (aa), and you are either homozygous or heterozygous (AA or Aa). Your child has a 100% chance of receiving it if you are homozygous and a 50% chance of receiving it if you are heterozygous. Ninety-five percent of those with NF have the cafe-au-lait spots, so the percentage would be a high chance if they do inherit your NF. I am in the minority. I have NF and do not have the CALs. My son has many spots. |
