Can i have some help about Neurofibromatosis??


I need help with what some long term effects would be, how you would be tested for it, and also what kind of trait it would be... I would greatfull if someone could help.

The neurofibromatoses are genetic disorders of the nervous system that primarily affect the development and growth of neural (nerve) cell tissues. These disorders cause tumors to grow on nerves and produce other abnormalities such as skin changes and bone deformities. Although many affected persons inherit the disorder, between 30 and 50 percent of new cases arise spontaneously through mutation (change) in an individual's genes.

I have NF type 1. there is also type 2. It's genetic (50%) and my mom, her dad, my sis & her son also have it. I have a tumor on my optic nerve, speech problems and dyslexia. My sis has sculiosis. We all have fibromas and are more prone to digestive problems. I also do a mans hair that has type 2 & the left side of his body is covered w/ tumors and his problems are far worse that mine.Go to
