Compressed Nerve in Lower Back?

Does anyone know how a compressed nerve is handled? How do they fix it? I was diagnosed as having one in my lower back...I have degenerative disc disease. Thank you for your help.

It's still best to seek professional help, and a physical therapist will be able to help.
