Why do I have this mild ache and muscle tension in my arm?

I have been experiencing tension in my right upper arm and also in my shoulder. It creates these mini-spasms in my hand. I don't drop anything, it just that my hand sometimes feels a little weird. It feels like there is a muscle in my arm that just won't relax. I do suffer from a lot of anxiety and I wonder if that might play a part in this, but I am also worried about possible nerve damage or nerve disease such as multiple sclerosis.

Anxiety always exacerbates pain and related problems. Something as simple as a massage, or making sure you have enough potassium might alleviate your muscle issue. Unlikely to be MS, as you are presenting with a muscular problem, not a nerve one.
