Support group for peraphal neuropathy in Missouri?

A nerve disease called peraphal neuropathy,is there anyone that has knowledge about it,or knows of a support group,or even another person with this disease.People aren't educated about it!
Even many Doctors don't know how to help the pain.It put me in a wheelchair!I have yet to meet anyone that suffers like I do.HELP!

sorry, I am not from missouri but I suffer from peripheral neuropathy.
you did not say how you got this. do you have diabetes? that is the #1 cause of P.N. to the feet. my dad has it but not confined to a wheelchair.
I have it due to a Vitamin B12 deficiency- pernicious anemia. I have it in both my hands and my left foot and most of my left side.
it took a long time to figure out what was wrong with me! yet, it seems so obvious if you read the symptoms or explanations on the net.
i don't take in meds for mine. it's not that bad but my dad takes Lyrica and he used to take nuerontin. both make him kinda "doped up" feeling and he doesn't like it but he has pain and has to take it.

Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it.

Dr. Weintraub did a study on 375 patients all across the country with severe type 2 diabetic neuropathy with great results.
