I was diagnosed with nephritis 10+yrs ago. Can i have children & will my child inherit this disease from me?

It seems that is hereditary, my elder sis got lupus and her daughter also got some problem with her central nervous system which was only diagnosed after she (my niece) had given birth.
I think my ultimate fate will be dialysis and that is why I'm not going into relationship, I'm also worry that I may not give birth to a healthy baby.

Anyone with similar experience to share?

You can have children and they may or may not inherit Lupus no one knows or can know the answer.

If you do need to go on dialysis you can continue to live a full and rewarding life so I see no reason to avoid relationships. If you found the right person and did get married you could still adopt children if you were concerned about passing down your Lupus.

But ask yourself this - do you wish you were never born? Is Lupus that bad? Or is the threat of dialysis that bad? Often we fear most the things we don't fully understand - talk to people through dialysis_support groups about their experience. And talk to people living with Lupus to hear what they think.

If you want to be unmarried and childless that is your right but don't make that choice out of fear. Talk to others and keep an open mind.
