Why is Zoloft bad for the kidneys?

Hi, I told my new new shrink that I couldn't go on Lexapro and Cymbalta because I read that they were bad for the kidneys (I have kidney nephritis disease), and she put me on Zoloft...anyway, I just read that those with kidney or liver disease should see a doctor and be supervised...I think my shrink didn't have all the correct information.

Anyway, I am reading that it could be bad for the kidneys but I don't know why, what it DOES that's potentially harmful to the kidneys?

If you are afraid to take the med talk to your regular Dr he can give you the info you need. Plus he can keep a ck on your kidneys. When on some of the meds you are suppose to have your liver and kidneys checked. Hope this helps

every kind of medication can be harmful to your body...
but that doesn't mean it can hurt you like that..there's just a small chance. just calm down and take it. otherwise you'll live with anxiety and depression for the rest of your life. not all of psychiatrists have every single fact about the medicine...cause they prescribe a lot of medications.
