Upper GI endoscopy, Stomach polyp, pathology reports abnormal cells?

Please help I went for an upper gi endoscopy, last week... last night I got a call from the Dr.s office telling me they need to go in and do another because the patology report said abnormal cells found. But NOT cancer. Last week when they removed the poloyp it was a 7mm sessiel polyp with no stigmata polyp was removed with cold forceps Benign neoplasm of stomach.Normal mucosa was found in the entire stomach,Esophagus normal, cardia & gastric fundus were normal.... now they want me to redo the endoccopy because of this lab report even though they say it is not cancer..... can anyone here tell me why and what they might be looking for? I'm geting tired of all the blood work and tests. this all started because I had low iron. I have since had all tests for celiac (which now I dont have) and the colonosopy which came back fine, blood stool tests came back fine. all these tests have been done in the last 4 months.... feed back would greatly be appreaciated as I am sitting here worried.

Polyps turn to cancer sometimes and they most likely just want to make sure that they got it all and to check you lymph glands in the stomach to make sure they are not swollen.
It sounds like you have good doctors that are doing everything to prevent you from future testing and invasive surgery. They want to make sure you do not turn up with cancer in the future. Low iron is an indication that something is wrong in your system and can represnt bleeding of tumors. Your doctors took all the right measures to ensure you stay in good health. Consider yourself fortunate to have good health care because many don't and get misdiagnosed. Colon cancer is one of the most misdiagnosed malpractice suits in the United States.
So, four months of being uncomfortable and being turned into a lab rat isn't fun, but Cancer of the Stomach is really really not fun at all and is one of those cancers that go left unattended for a long time before getting symptoms to promt a dignosis and it is an aggressive cancer.
So, just say to yourself that you have saved your life in four months, because if that polyp turned to cancer it would be weeks of chemotherapy and that is way worse than what you have experienced so far.
I do understand your frustration, living in a doctors office and hospitals and waiting on labs is quite nerve wracking and time consuming and overall frustrating and overwhelming. I wish you the best. Treat yourself to something nice and do something nice for yourself it may help you to get the focus off of this for a few moments in time. Also, try a good comedy, laughter does wonders for the spirit.

Best Wishes!

Maybe it's time to go to another doctor for a 2nd opinion. I'd just start fresh and be sure to tell the new doctor what you have been going through. The new doctor can get your test records and determine what the deal is from that. If you have to have the test done again have a different entity do the 2nd test.
