Neck Injury?

I went snowboarding on Tuesday and it was uber icy and slushy. I decided, hey. I think I'm going to go on a double black, so I was riding along the side of a trail and someone cut me off and her skis got caught on my board. My board got caught on this wire that holds up something else and I ended up flipping. I recall landing on my head. And from there, I bounced off my head and landed on my stomach. I believe I blacked out for a solid minute.

Yesterday, my neck was fine. Sore in one spot. Today, I wake up... and it is completely... @#$O(*!#@$. I can barely move it at all, mainly to the right. It's a bit swollen as well. It hurts to move my shoulder, and I definitely cannot bend my head down at all.

I'm not able to go to a doctor until Sunday & they're never opened on Sundays, so my only chance is on Monday. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to make it feel better? I'm going away on a trip for All-States, so I won't be home at all. Anything I could bring to help me?

ok here is my best advice, use ice, ice, ice. and Advil or ibuprohen, that is an anti inflamatory. Let me explain, with an injury the blood rushes to the area that is hurt and says I am going to fix it, so it rushes there to cure it but in fact it makes it hot and inflamed, so when you put the ice to it the blood says oh man that is cold sorry about your luck I am out of here, so it leaves the area. That promotes healing so to reduce swelling use ice and to reduce inflamation use an anti inflamatory such as advil or ibuprophen. No fun I am guessing you have a severe whip lash. if you don't have an ice pack use a bag of frozen peas or corn. Have it x-rayed as soon as possible, you don't want to mess with anything in your spine. Good luck honey.

Look you need to go to the ER and get an x-ray. It is probably just swelling from the muscle, but if you broke it, you could displace it and that would mean death or paralysis. It hurts for a reason - to remind you not to move it. But if you just want to take the pain away, start with some advil.

You need to get yourself to the emergency room so you can be evaluated to make sure you haven't done some kind damage that waiting to fix would make a lot worse!
