Back and Neck Injury - Auto Accident?

I impacted another vehicle at 40 MPH sending me into oncoming traffic where I hit a second vehicle at about 25. I woke up the next day with severe neck and back pain. I have been to physical therapy and have appointments twice a week scheduled for the next month. At that point I plan to evaluate the progress in therapy. I have hired an attorney for consultation in a settlement. Am I doing the right thing and what should I be expecting in the coming months??

this is personal advice, not medical advice

yes, you are on the right track, assuming you have a primary physician who knows of your physical therapy.

what the coming months bring is really too broad to consider based on the information you provided. writing broadly, however, you can expect more physical therapy, which will be both painful & rewarding, along with consultations with other physicians.

as for the legal ramifications (and bearing in mind that this is NOT legal advice), it depends on who was found prima facie at fault, and whether or not someone pleaded guilty on a traffic charge. keep in mind that when someone pleads 'no contest' to a traffic charge, it generally can't be used in a civil case.

expect a lot of paperwork, discussions with attorneys, and other such fun. hopefully, though, it will work out so you can return to a better physical condition.
