Does anyone know much about facial numbness after a neck injury? And if so, are there any remedies?

Hi,
A couple years ago I was lifting on a trailer and ruptured one of the disks in my lower back. It caused a tingling/burning sensation down my right leg all the way to my ankle. At times it felt as if I had sprained that ankle severely. I went to a super fine surgeon who after taking an MRI showed and explained to me why I had the sensation... The spine is among other things the conduit for our nervous system. All of the nerves in our body run through there. When my "Herniated" disk was bulging out it was in reality pushing against the nerves that exited the spine to run down my right leg. The bulge was actually cutting off the signal to the muscle groups that those nerves control. I had some signal but not much... I could not stand on my heel on my right foot. Eventually after exhausting methods to reduce the swelling that included injecting with steroids and taking steroids orally he operated on my back. Today as he predicted I am in just as good of shape as I ever was. I do force myself not to lift things that would tax my back but I am as able as ever to do all the things I did before.

Now knowing all this there is some type of pressure on the nerves that exit the neck and is cutting off the signal to that part of your face. So yes there are remedies. But none that involve just you doing alone. I am no doctor mind you so take what I am telling you with a grain of salt. But from my experience I do know this. If you haven't seen a doctor go now and make an appointment to see one. If you have seen a general practiotioner have him or her refer to you to a good spine doctor... I did and am proud I did...
If you were in the Hattiesburg area I would tell you to go see mine... Dr Michael Patterson of the Southern Bone and Joint.

it is paralyzed. You can't fix it.
