I suffered a neck/back injury on my job. Should I go back to the same job? |
I have a bulging cervical inter vertebral disc impinging on my C7 nerve root. It hurts like hell when I raise my head or causes a burning sensation in my tricep when I extend my arm. I'm a shuttle bus driver at the airport so I'm required to manually open and close the bus door (naturally) and assist people with their (sometimes very heavy) luggage. I'm part time and don't have any benefits. As I mentioned, I DON'T have insurance or benefits on my job. I'm part time and can't afford a doctor. I know what the problem is, I just can't afford to pay to have it fixed. The only thing I can do is take it easy and not re-injure myself. I also suffer from back pain. Unfortunately the back injuries will get worse with age. U'd be smart to be nice to your back, go to a chiropractor, the first few visits R covered by most medical insurance. No amount of money would make it worth not being able to walk or something harsh like that. it happens too often. If U can go on disability for awhile, that's what I ended up doing, so really baby your back, if you're smart. you need to see a chiropractor to get help with this. and it depends on how bad you need that job.and how easy it will be to get you a new job. good luck and best wishes. go to the doc |
