Does anyone know what people generally get paid for personal injury for whiplash and neck and back pain?

I was recently hit from behind by a car and suffered neck and back injury.
I have been sent to a doctor for a medical on behalf of the insurance company. He said that I have suffered severe whiplash and neck and back injury and has refferred me to a physiotherapist for treatment.
Does anyone have any idea how much compensation I might be awarded and how long do these cases usually take to pay. Thanks

I am living in UK

usually $5-15k and it may take a few months to get it.

edit: oh, didnt realize you were in the UK. lawsuits generally dont pay as much, plus your pounds are worth more than our dollars.... i would guess maybe 2000-5000 pounds.

It does take less time with an attorney, but that all depends on your insurance company.

Compensation is usually based on medical bills and how many days you are out of work. With an attorney, you may be able to get pain and suffering.

Hope you feel better! And good luck on your insurance claim.

It happened to me once many years ago. I didn't want to take advantage of the insurance company, so when their first offer was $2000, I accepted.

Well.

I don't know where you live or anything, but in Queensland (and maybe Australia...?) whiplash is no longer considered a legal 'injury'.

So what I'm saying is, sure, it's there, but no insurance company is going to say it exists.

My mum has been trying to get compensation for a car accident for 3 years, there is a limit to how long the case can be dragged out for, but I dunno what that is.

Wow, I was so good at answering this question. NOT.

your lawyer should be able to give ya an estimate of what u may get which probley wont be that much after he takes his part out ! good luck!!!
