My neck got sevely burned and dyed from the hair dye i used, what do you suggest i do? |
I dyed my hair about 4-5 years ago with a 15 minute dye, after about 8 minutes into it, i felt that my neck was burning and stinging, i went and washed it out right away and washed my neck the best i could, you couldn't really see any color, but i looked at it th other day because it was stinging and itching a lot and my neck right under my hair line is brown and it stings and burns and itches all the time, it even hurts when i wear a necklace, i think i must have gotten a chemical burn. it looks like i have a really bad skin disorder. what should i do nothing helps to relieve the pain and itching. I need help. my husband said that my neck has always looked "gross" because it was brown and looked like i had a burn, he said its been there ever since i died my hair. It itches quite a bit, but, and burns and stings every so often, i know it was because of the hair dye. Go to the doctor....... soon You should see a dermatologist ASAP to get an accurate diagnosis and some relief. Go to the doctor or a dermatoligist. For the itching you can use benadryl or hydrocortisone cream The chemical burn (which is what you had) went away 4-5 years ago. What you have going on now is something completely unrelated. You could have any number of disorders, but my first suspect would be an allergic reaction to something that touches your neck (clothing, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener, cologne, cleaner used on car headrest, etc). You may have a bug bite, or heat rash, or some other skin problem like psoriasis. You need to see a dermatologist to find out what is back there. It is unrelated to your burn from the hair dye 4-5 years ago. That is done and over with. It would be most unusual for this to happen five years after the hair dyeing episode. I would be willing to guess that your skin is sensitive in that area and that something else has provoked a reaction. I've had this problem also..for at least 15 years, (how long i've been dyeing my hair). Are you using blonde dye with alot of peroxide? If so, thats the problem...having done this to my neck...i now have a permant kind of scorises on my neck and have to apply meds to it when it acts up. Not getting all the shampoo off of it when washing hair, can also trigger it to act up. It starts out as red and itchy, then turns brown and dry and flakes off when scratched. Will always have this problem with this area now. Certain times of the year, when its really hot and muggy, and you sweat, will make it worse. What type of meds have you tried on it? Have you tried the over-the-counter ones for scoriais? They seem to help mine alot when it acts up. Good Luck! |
