Also called: Pharyngeal disorders
Your throat is a tube that carries food to your esophagus and air to your windpipe and larynx. The technical name for throat is pharynx.

Throat problems are common. You've probably had a sore throat. The cause is usually a viral infection, but other causes include allergies, infection with strep bacteria or the upward movement of stomach acids into the esophagus, called gastric reflux.

look - always get a second doc's opinion, okay? it does sound like sinus infection but you need to go to another doc for second opin

Drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids and get lots of rest. If it does not go away see an ear nose and throat specialist.

That's how I feel when I have a sinus infection, but a Z-pak never clears it up for me, you may need a different antibiotic, but keep in mind that a Z-pack works for 10days even though you only take pills for 5 days.
