Is it mono or an anxiety disorder??

I've been feeling sick for about a month now and after getting some tests done at the doctor we come sown to either anxiety disorder or mono. I had mono when I was 12 and now I'm 15 and my doctor tells me I can't get it twice but other people say differently. One of my best friends also just got diagnosed with mono and I shared drinks with her.

Symptoms:
-tired/ lethargic ** main symptom i missed school because i was so tired, can sleep all day and still be tired (NOT BECAUSE LACK OF EXCERCISE)
-dizzy/lightheaded all the time
-swollen neck glands
-chest pain when working out
-cold most of the time no fever
-weak no energy at all

please answer! im sorry its so long but i really need some helllp

Today I also had a very sore throat and I still have it- don't know if that helps at alll

Sounds like mono to me. But your doctor will know for sure once you get your tests results back. I had mono in college, and I went to bed on a Monday and didnt even wake up until Wednesday. I also had the worst strep throat of my life. So I know that sick, tired feeling!

probably mono
see a doctor

Go to another doctor and get a second opinion.

Could be the second speaker, which makes it stereo, is not working

Go see adifferent doctor and see if they can help u

My sister once had mono, so to me it sounds like you have mono. It is possible to have mono twice if the first time you had it very severe, or it was not treated properly.

might have that epstein barr syndrome resulting from the mono, i had it 10-12 times from the ago of 12 to 20
i am 50 now & have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

your symptoms sould the same, & it strikes all ages, moreso in women thatn in men

feel better

well if you had mono then your body has already built an immunity to it, so its most likely anxiety... i recommend chillin

I can tell you that an anxiety disorder does not cause swollen neck glands or a sore throat. Did your doctor think that you could possibly have a virus of some sort that is not MONO?

To me, it sounds like you have a physical disorder that is causing your symptoms. A month is a long time to be feeling lousy.

Definitely sounds like mono.
Raised lymph nodes in the neck are a sign of immune response in that area. They could be incidental to a more minor infection, and that could be masking accurate diagnosis, but my first instinct is mono.
Double check with your doctor if you're really concerned, because anxiety disorder is not something you want to leave unchecked!

Mono..

I have anxiety/ panic disorder and there isn't one symptom listed in there for anxiety.

Anxiety is like anxious, hyper, heart rate is fast, excited and can't breathe right. And panic attacks is heart rate too fast, can't breathe that you get a little dizzy and it can make you cry, and you're paralyzed with fear, or you feel something bad has happened or will happen.

I think your doctor is right cause you cant get the same virus twice unless it mutates then it could be mono. Whoever said that you could get the same virus over and over below. Influenza is a whole bunch of mutated viruses that is why you get it more than once so you cant get the same exact virus again because you body builds an immunity. The virus could mutate so it has a protection against your immunity.

My doctor told me the same thing. I've had mono now over 6 times. Every 6 months for 3 years! Don't believe a word your doctor says. I've gone to a different doctor, and the tests have confirmed it.

It sounds like it might be mono. I always got SUPER swollen glands in my throat, to the point where they're painful when moving my neck around. My throat itself gets very sore, almost like strep throat.

I always felt so drained, like I couldn't get out of bed. Or once you wake up you get really worn out quickly/easily.

Try to see a different doc. They can do a mono spot test and tell you almost immediately if it is mono or not.

Good luck! Hope you feel better.

This is not anxiety disorder, I suffer with them my whole life. These are not the symptoms. I think you need to talk to your doctor, I have never heard that you can not get mono twice.
I am not a doctor, it really sounds like you have some type of virus. Ask your doctor about Epstein Barr, there are many different type of viruses out there. I am sure it is something very curable. Meanwhile, you should be drinking a lot of water to flush your system. Hope you feel better. Chicken soup always help to feel better (:>

Sounds like mono. And you can get it more than once. And you can get the same viruses over and over. Haven't you ever had the flu?? It's a virus, and you can get it again. Virus strains change all the time. Just do what your doctor tells you to do, and get lots of rest. Doesn't sound like anxiety to me at all. And with viruses, they can only treat the symptoms. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections and don't work on viruses. Perhaps your body didn't build up a good immunity last time you had it. But even then, you can get it again. Take care and good luck!!

You can have Mono at 15 and you do have it! All the symptoms of mono no question. Your doctor sounds like an idiot for even saying you can't have it 2 times, & I should know I had it 3 times. (the first was viral adnitis) similar to mono but not mono, then I got mono and then later in my 20's got contagious mono. Also your doctor said maybe anxiety? What does anxiety have to do with all of your sysmptoms? Nothing. I did the same thing sleep sleep sleep! One time I got dressed in a dress for a class & by the time I was ready to leave I was exausted & layed back on my bed & fell right to sleep & woke up 3 hrs later class was over & I'm still in that dress. You have mono there's not doubt in my mind! Take Care!!
