Why does my whole body hurt & where/how can I get help for it! Saw rheumatologist/pain spec./md/ortho. No help |
I fell in '96 and the pain spread all over my body and has never gone away. I have multiple symptoms which the doctors, md's & spec., all say are over-exaggerated and not relevant to what they find. I was eventually diagnosed w/ fibromyalgia, but now they are unsure. I am told I have 3 "slightly" bulging discs in my neck as well as a couple in my lower back, but not enough to cause me the pain I suffer. I have also been told I have depression/bipolar/personality disorder....maybe, not sure! I have had tmt. for depression, inflammation, pers. disorder, but nothing has helped, they all made me worse or caused other problems. I hurt so much my kids can barely hug me. I don't qualify for ssi/ssd. I need help. I want to work, but can barely walk, stand, sit for extended times. Dr's don't know what it is, just want to call it psychological &/or give anti-depressants. Any info that is sincere would be appreciated. Pain in all muscle tissue, hip/tailbone area, migraines. No money and no ins. I'm sorry that you feel so bad. These days there are pain management doctors. Shop around. I wish you did have insurance.Health care is a privilege and not a right in this country. It sounds like fibromalgia. There are a lot of doctors that don't believe it exists because there is no tangible test for it. Try a different rheumatologist Some are catching on that it really does exist. There may be a problem with the ascending nerves firing off all the time. Bless you and don't give up. My first question is Report It You could consult a neurologist as there are some types of pain that are nerve related. The other thing to do is your own reasearch on sites like Web MD. I have known a few people who went to their Doctors with their own diagnosis and turned out to be right on the money. Remember Doctors are scientists and if they cannot explain something they don't like it. if you have been diagnosed with bi polar disorder, you can get ssi, i do, i also think that you have some kind of nerve damage and you should ask your doctor to put you on a drug called nurontin, it is for nerve pain and also makes bi polar disorder a thing of the past, try it, I know it will work, and it doesn't make you sleepy, so you will still be able to play with your kids, hope everything gets better for you The bulging disks could be causing a lot of the pain. I have fibro as well as a bulging disk, one aggravates the other. Do you have other symptoms that go along with fibro or chronic fatigue? Do you have a great deal of trouble sleeping? Contact your local MHMR center. They should be able to help you with funding for your treatment. Your symptoms sound more like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome plus Fibromyalgia. There are several websites that offer detailed information about these conditions and treatments for them. I suggest if you can find one and possible get some financial assistance, going to a Doctor of Osteopathy. They use holistic medicines along with traditional means to address your symptoms. Good luck & may God bless! Massage has been shown to decrease pain in chronic pain cases, and also you may want to see someone who specializes in reikki. I've found fairly good OTC and homeopathic pain relief for my FMS. I take 800 mg. of naproxen (Aleve) and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule every night at bedtime and take Arnica (a homeopathic herb) as needed for flareups. I also have had migraines the past two years and have a standing prescription for Midrin for pain, but when that doesn't work, I take Nux Vomica (another homeopathic herb) and typically find pain relief. Check out the links below for more information on homeopathic remedies. Good luck. |
