Head tremors?

I am a 23 year old male, a smoker...and at one time a regular toker. Beginning in 2004 I started developing social anxiety disorder, where I would get extremely nervous for no reason around people. I also began getting head tremors when I would have a panic attack, which perpetuated the anxiety because I would worry about people seeing my head "shake", and them thinking I was utterly insane and unstable. It continues today, and the only real nervousness I have left is when I have close encounters with people, and my head will just shake...my neck gets really stiff, I can't focus or see properly, headaches endure, and also the stress of predicting and worrying that it's going to happen again. I'm not sure if this is a common theme amongst anxiety sufferers. My whole issue with my anxiety has pretty much just been this head shaking...it's like a complete loss of focus, emotion, and physical dexterity...any suggestions?

I have the same problem. I'm 23 with social anxiety disorder, and my main problem is a shaking head. I've been on Paxil for a couple of years and it has helped (along with Propanolol, which I use before presentations or interviews). Propanolol definitely helped. Maybe you can ask your doctor about it.

Now the real problem: the last few months my Paxil hasn't been working as well as it used to. And now my head is always shaking, even if I'm alone and not feeling nervous. I don't want to constantly use Propanolol because the effect may wear off. I'll be seeing my doctor about it next week. It's gotten me really worried.

I am rather surprised you have found it convenient to separate the physical part of the problem from the emotional part. Each is an aggravating factor for the other.

Is long past time to visit a doctor of Chiropractic and get some relief. The head shaking is triggered by nerve stimulation. To be found in the neck. As is the inflammatory process which has become a chronic condition. To be found at the base of the skull. To involve several of the cranial nerves. Each creating its own symptom. My count is at least 5 of the cranial nerves are involved.

You need to see a professional mental health practitioner. Your condition possibly has a physiological basis and needs to be diagnosed by a suitably qualified doctor. The sooner the better, I would suggest..

You should really start seeing a psychiatrist if you are not already,anti- anxiety drugs can help.
