Cause of and Cure/Prevent Nearsightedness??

I was just reading a website that explains how nearsightedness really develops and how to properly prevent and even cure it. It is full of detailed pictures that explain the cause of it and how minus lenses (glasses for distance) make nearsightedness much worse very quickly

the website says that many eye doctors are not taught the truth in school and many don't know about it themselves.

my prescription is -1.75, I was curious on people's opinion on this and whether I should look into trying to cure my nearsightedness.

They appear to have many success rates although most of them are for low myopia, up to 3 diopters.

I appreciate your honest opinions please!

The website is

You can click "home" link on the top left for their actual website which explains much more

It is possible to cure myopia. I had prescription -1.00 D and was able to cure my own myopia through eye exercises completely. And I thank God for having found out about these exercises.

I don't know if people with high diopters (over -6.00 D) can cure it completely, but they can definitely reduce the prescription. Although I read somewhere on the Internet a case where one man managed to reduce his prescription from -9.00 D to 0.00 D. It does sound like a huge success, but when you look it the other way, his eyeball only had to reduce by around 3.5 millimeters.

I do believe that it is possible to cure completely high diopters with eye exercises. You just have to be persistent and practice them every day. This persistence is worth every minute of it.

Best regards,

In my case, it appears to have been hereditary, although the condition skipped a couple of generations. My older daughter also has it, which I'm sure she got from me. I don't know if anything could have been done to prevent her nearsightedness or mine for that matter.

There are many websites that make these claims. There are no methods to reduce/prevent nearsightedness that have been scientifically proven to work. The site makes many claims but provides no human clinical trial evidence for their claims.

The cause of myopia remains unknown, though there is a strong genetic link in that people with one myopic parent have a 50% chance of myopia and people with two myopic parents have an 80% chance. Contrary to the website's claims, scientists have been studying the causes of myopia for over 25 years and have pretty much ruled out near focusing as a cause.

If you want to try to cure, do not spend any money on advertised "cures" or "programs". You can sign the book "Better Vision without Glasses" by Bates or by Huxley out of your local library and try the execises in it for free.

Little chance of succeeding, but you will not have wasted any money.
