How does nearsightedness grow with age, what contributes to it, and what is the maximum sight?

Good question. It all has to do with changing corneal dimensions. At some point the whole system reverses and as your cornea and lens stiffen as you age you have trouble seeing things close (farsightedness). Thank god for glasses or we would all be crashing into each other on the highway!
