What causes nearsightedness?

is it because i sat too close to the t.v or genetics? which is weird because i think im the only one in my family EVER to become nearsighted

Genetics more and likely. TV has nothing to do with it. Old age and not enough of the right Vitamins are also a factor.

BOTH.

crappy genetics.

the eyeball actually changes from being round to becoming oval either horizontally or vertically. ddepending on which way it changes causes nearsightedness or farsightedness. the TV didn't cause it. genetics is probably the right answer.
