Glasses? Corner of eyes? Crow's feet area? Nearsightedness? Myopia?

I am myopic and wear glasses, but on off days I misplace my glasses and have to go to school, read or watch tv, and just live without them.
On those day I find that tugging at the corners of my eyes ( like what the people in the pic do, see link below) allows me to see at lot better. If you use glasses or contacts and have tried it out let me know.
Any clue as well on why it works?

As a little kid I wanted asian eyes (so pretty) and would look in the mirror and put my fingers at my eyes to get that look and figured out later as a teen that it even made me see better whenever i lost my specs!

I found a pic explaining the action here - http://p2pnet.net/story/5589

Waiting to hear from you ;)

With myopia, your eye is too long from front to back. When you pull on the corners of your eyes hard enough, it compresses the eye, making it shorter from front to back. That's why you can see better when you pull the corners of your eyes like that. If you do that a lot though, it probably won't be very good for your eyes, so make sure you are either wearing your glasses or they're safe in their case!
