Can lasik get rid of short and long sightedness?

I plan to do a lasik operations to rid of my nearsightedness.
But as I am approaching 40, I reckon the farsightedness would set in soon enough.
I will not want a situation where, after my nearsightedness is rid, i face with a new problem of a farsightedness. Worse, I can't have another procedure to rid the farsightedness which is expected to get worse as I age.
Questions are:
a) Should i do the lasik now at this age to correct nearsightedness?
b) Can I perform another procedure to correct farsightedness later after the nearsightedness is corrected?
c) Is there a procedure to correct farsightedness?

Thanks guys!!

There are procedures for near as well as far sightedness. You would need to consult with a specialist to find out what is best for your eyes. (myself, I wouldn't wait)
