Can your eyesight bring back some sort of intelligence?

I recently consulted an opthalmologist about my eyes and diagnosed me with high nearsightedness and astigmatism. I had eyeglasses before but i can't comfortably wear them in a while because my head will hurt. I got these new glasses and i wear them all the time and it seems as if i can memorize my lessons faster. Any explanation?

well, for starters the headaches might have made it harder for you to concentrate. also, with the old eyeglasses your brain probably spent so much energy sorting out the fuzzy information from your eyes that your intellectual powers would have been slightly impaired.

You were probably reading the words all wrong before, and now that you can see them, they are making sense.
