Eye Focus Question?

I just got a pair of glasses and now i am all interested in the eyes and I was hoping someone could answer a question for me.

Why is it that when I look at something relatively close up, i'd say at least three quarters of a meter away and "relax" my eyes the object goes completely out of focus...

I can litterally put it back into focus if I try but it takes a sort of effort to it...

I wear nearsightedness glasses -0.75 perscription and its much easier to get things out of focus with those even like at over a meter with though... I can pretty easily but it back into focus though if I try.

IS THIS NORMAL? or should I mention this to my optometrist, I never really noticed this until I got my first pair of glasses last week but my eyes do it with or without the glasses just the distance factor comes in when I am wearing them

Im 16 by the way! thanks guys!

- William

I think that is quite normal, William.

Some people find it harder to " relax" the eyes to make them go out of focus , but most people can do that quite easily.

There are lots of optical illusion tricks floating around the internet that require you to let your eyes relax and get a bit out of focus to see them right.

So, you discovered something you can do...but it is normal.
