Why do I cough up blood????? |
Im 14 and i've been coughing up blood for a year now. It started in october last year and there would be big dark chunks of blood in my sputum. Then it sort of went away in the summer, but it would still happen every now and then. Now it's starting again. I've been to the doctor and he ruled out cystic fibrosis and said it was probably a post nasal drip or something. I had cancer when I was younger, should i be worried?? And what should I do about it? I can't stand the taste of blood in my mouth all the time. Thanks. I'm very sorry to hear this and hope you get better. Have you ever been tested for pulmonary ulcers? Sometimes, heavy coughing can lead to tears in the lining of the bronchial tubes, which become like stomach ulcers. If you had cancer, it could be a recurrence of some issues you had before. If your doctor can't find anything, get a second and third opinion. It is not normal to consistently cough up blood. There is something not right inside. |
