Chronic sinusitis or nasopharyngeal cancer?

to cut a long story short, in late august'06 i came down with a severe cold and sore throat, lasted 3 days, followed by a dryness sensation in the nasal cavity for about a month or two. i went to the doctor said i have candida, second doctor candida as well. took nystanin didn't help my sore throat. november got my condition worse, with persistent sore throat in THE UPPER throat region ABOVE my ulvula, soft palate (at least that is how i feel it). it's more itchy than sore but it's disturbing. the ENTdoc said i have chronic sinusitis, made an xray etc gave me antibiotics and antifungal (wich i didnt take due to side effects). in december i got chicken pox, and took injectable antibiotics to avoid the complications of that, and it seemed better for 2 weeks or so, but as soon as the holidays were over it came back. last nigth i caughed up my postnasal drip with two dots of blood in it, and it seems a very little ammount is present always in the mucus i spit. i'm very worried.

i'm 18 .. smoker. i also have two pea sized hard lymph nodes on the left side of the neck, but they were larger when i had the chicken pox. some left ear problems as well, feels a little weird, stuffed.
i'm worried that only my left side of my throat hurts. +i always have infected tonsils with little white spots and dots ALSO on the left side.

so .. please tell me if the blood should get me worried or it's just a couple of broken vessels? p.s. i suspect blood is from the nasal washes i do with my home made solution 1spoonsalt/0.5 litres.

Well since you didn't take the antifungal with the antibiotics like you were supposed to you most like do have thrush again and chronic sinusitis can be a long term thing if not kept under control. If you still have the antifungal take it now to try to get that under control and eat lots of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules. For the chronic sinusitis you need to use a good mulitvitamin and antixioxidant supplement to get that under control.

*****You are a smoker??? No WONDER you have chronic sinusitis!! Stop smoking and your sinus problems will go away completely. And stop doing those damn washes. That's hurting you not helping you.
You don't have cancer. The blood is because it's winter and your sinuses are so dry. Get a humidifier. It will help a LOT. It's been a bad winter for a lot of people with sinus problems. Join the crowd.

The blood is probably from dry, irritated nasal mucosa. It sounds like you have seen the appropriate Dr. (ENT) If you are not going to follow their advice why bother. If you are very worried I would quit smoking. Chantix is a new drug that can assist with that. Good Luck! See your ENT again.

16 Infection Fighters.
1 - Lean over a pan full of steaming water with a towel draped over head,creating a steam tent.Inhale the vapors as they waft up towards your nostrils.
2 - Sniff a cup of hot coffee.
3 - Do not run cold mist machine in your bed room.
4 - Mix one table spoon of salt with 2 cups of warm water and a pinch of baking soda.Pour it in to a shot glass,tilt your head,close one nostril with your thumb and sniff the solution with the open nostril.Then blow your nose gently.Repeat on the other side.
5 - Drink hot and cold fluids through out the day.
6 - Blow one nostril at a time.
7 - Go ahead and blow your nostrils anywhere forget your manners.
8 - Unstuff yourself with decongestant tablets such as Sudafed.
9 - Take 2 capsules of Garlic daily.
10 - Take the bottled variety of Horseradish.

12 - Use nasal spray sparingly.
13 - Exercise daily.
14 - Apply a warm wash cloth over your eyes and cheekbones and leave it there until you feel the pain subside. It may take only a few minutes.
