Narcotics again... am i right or am i wrong, documentary?

II asked how do i get my doctor to write out narcotics for me instead of ibuprofen. i got this reply.
"addiction to pain killers is a serious threat and this is the cause for doctors being so strict with medicine. you have a right to have your pain addressed. however it sounds like you fit the model of a drug seeking personality. Oxycontin is a serious pain killer why not compromise and ask your doctor for ult-ram. he'll be way more likely to give you that than one of the most abused drugs in medicine. "
So is it correct to say any time you ask for pain pills, that is considered drug-seeking? well if you can't ask then how do you get them? do you think that people who need them don't ever ask for them? This is a test. This is not my account. I am just gauging the replies on a series of questions for a documentary. answer carefully.

oh excuse me i didn't know you were a health professional, go ahead and self prescribe. and btw can you tell me what drug class ultram is in? because it's less potent than oxycontin. whatever.

i know, instead of weed there are serious drugs being prescribed that are dangerous.. the human race makes no sense in some of the rules it makes

When it comes to painkillers, Toradol is my drug of choice. It is a non-narcotic, non-addictive painkiller that is as powerful as Demerol. I take it for back pain. My doctor gave me a script for it a year ago, with 5 refills. I have 5 refills left.

It's safe and effective and for me, works great. It relieves the pain and I can function normally.

we do see a lot of drug seekers in the ER. most as so easy to spot as they are frequent flyers and and they most always list all the possibilities of lesser medications as being allergies in hopes the Doctor will prescribe stronger is a dead give away. a urine drug test will reveil especially if they do not list the positive drugs on the medication list they provide on traige. i do feel that we as Nurses and the Doctors can tell if a person is seeking or not and we do medicate as needed for the pain. there are times we give that benefit of doubt and do give that one time dose and a lesser prescription with instructions to follow up with their family Doctor for stronger as they should know their medical history.
