my 20 year old daughter is a drug addict is entering rehab for third time i need a meeting to help me . where can i go in suffolk county new york

You can call the distress line, chances are they can help give you a number or try yellow pages. I wish you all the luck with your daughter but all ways watch your jewelry money heirlooms, if this stuff starts to disappear then she has reach an all time low. Most narcotic users I've seen who tried the stuff once usually were hooked instantly and never walked away from the stuff. I've only seen two who quit cold turkey and they hurt big time that was almost unbearable for them to stay off the stuff. He had used the stuff a few times and almost couldn't walk away.DON'T EVER lend her money for, if she wants to borrow for some thing then buy it your self and give it to her. That way she won't run to the dealer. If you decide to buy her an expenive item watch how long she kept it for, she might trade it for another hit of what ever. If she's into crystal meth or crack you better be carefull. Acrystal meth high last for hours usually becoming extremely violent for no reason I was attack by som one on crystal meth. Crack when users come down well I'm not going to get into detail but if she says she quit then keep in the back of your mind, if she stays off for 6 months then she might stay clean.You can also try and take her to a really grungy area where crack, heroine users frequent show here what she'll look like in a year if she doesn't stop some times you need to scare some people straight before they change. When your daughter is high she is not your daughter any more she is a crack head and I really hate to say it but treat her like a stranger on drugs. Just be carefull if she ever flips out, she's not your daughter any more. May be you should turn on your email.

You could also attend an ALANON meeting as well. There are occasional NARANON meetings, but ALANON is more prevalent.
If you are not an addict yourself, you should be attending one of the alanon or naranon meetings, UNLESS the NA meeting is an "open" meeting. It's a long road, but these programs have saved my life. Learn this "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference" You are taking a very important first step in YOUR recovery, not just for your daughter.
