You may be very relaxed at first so the heart rate, blood pressure, and resp. rate will decrease, but as the body gets hungry for oxygen, your heart rate will start to increase. Problem is the drugs will have knocked out your drive to breath so all the extra work of your heart is for nothing. That is why abuse of these drugs is so dangerous. Abuse of these drugs or accidental overdosage cause you to stop breathing. Yes. Anesthesia and narcotics are both central nervous system depressants.
