What is the difference between Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous? Mostly window dressing. narcotics..and alcohol One is for drug addiction (narcotics); the other is for alcoholism. people in NA are people who primarily use drugs and stuff like heroin. The meeting locations you're answer is in your question Narcotics are drugs. Alcoholics drink alcohol. The structure is the same. Both follow the 12 steps. Narcotics Anonymous (aka NA) is for DRUG users...while Alcoholics Anonymous (aka AA) is for alcohol users..they are two completely different addictions. Well I hope we both are well tonight the programs are both self help based on Alcoholics Anonymous teaching. AA used a Triangle in a circle and NA uses a Square in a circle. First and formost stop using! attend meetings! Thank - You and Thank Your Higher Power they are based on similar 12 step principles, but na is for drug addiction and aa is for alcohol addiction. They are very similar with a few exceptions. Both are 12 step based programs that are designed to help people that want to kick the habit. Both recognize that addiction and alcoholism are diseases that can not be cured, but can be arrested at some point and then ... recovery is possible. Important aspect is that recovery is a day by day process and involves a spiritual awakening- in order to achieve the desired results. There is no cure, just a daily reprieve. ...
