What is narcolepsy?? falling asleep without realizing it. When you fall asleep anywhere ... anytime? read the first question on the link a brain disorder which randomly triggers you to fall asleep It is a brain disorder. It may not always cause you to sleep but if it happens it will be out of your control. Usually, it causes excessive drowsiness. Typically if we get enough sleep then we don't need to worry about being tired. People with narcolepsy may get enough sleep for their bodies but their bodies may fatigue anyway. They likly have to be careful if they want to drive or anything like that because they may pass out. narcolepsy is a condition that causes you to fall asleep no matter what you are doing. we have a friend that has it and we have been in S. Dakota during bike week, and be out riding in the mountains and when we would look over at him he would be sound asleep traveling 70-80 mph. we had to stop riding with him for fear for our lives! Narcolepsy is a medical condition in which a person can't seem to stay awake and are constantly falling asleep or sleep for days. It can be a serious and debilitating condition. If you believe you have this, please see your regular doctor who might refer you to a sleep disorder clinic. |
