Would narcolepsy qualify my son for social security?

Would narcolepsy qualify my son for social security?

YES IT WOULD , CAUSE IT IS A DISABILITY ..BUT MY OPTION IS FOR YOU , TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH DOCTORS TO HAVE TEST RESULTS , SO YOUR SON CAN WIN HIS CASE ..GOOD LUCK!!

If your son is living in your home with this condition, not over 18... unless you have having extreme difficulty making ends meet because you have to care for him... I'd leave the money to those that really do need it - like people who have just had a spouse die and are left with multiple children and no second income.

That said, probably.

If treated, does it still interfere with normal employment? There must be no ability to hold down a job.

But I would be very careful in labeling someone disabled - that label that lasts a lifetime.

If it is severe enough, yes.

Some people with narcolepsy also have seizures called cataplexy. They are triggered by any extreme emotion and cn happen on a daily basis. This is a disability.

i would think so i would make sure that i went to a couple of doctors and took those results with me to the s.s. office it is hard to get on disability
