Depression/Narcolepsy Medication side effects?

I take Ritalin, Prozac, Wellbutrin, Birth Control, and just recently a bipolar med called "Lamictal."

BEFORE I went on the Lamictal I started breaking out. I've never broken out before. I've been on Prozac for 4 years, Wellbutrin for at least 2 years, and Ritalin for 4 years also. And Birth control for 4 years too. I've never had side effects from these meds...and the breaking out started BEFORE I got on the Lamictal. So it can't be from that. It was only about 2 weeks before I got on the new med but still. I can't stand the way my skin feels or looks.

Does anyone know what could be going on? Or can stress/broken heart/cabin fever cause this?? Thanks.

I have 1 doctor that prescribes all of these. She's not really a doctor, she's just a medication prescriber. Some sort of nurse.

I just read the side effect profile & it does say it can cause skin rashes & to stop taking it if this occurs. Before you stop though, I would call your Dr's office & ask if you can stop immediately or if need to slowly stop.

Make sure that your Dr. knows all of the current prescription medicines you are on, as sometimes drugs can interact with each other & shouldn't be taken together.I would suggest mentioning all of the meds again even if they prescribed them as sometimes they forget or think you have stopped taking one etc. Stress can cause breakouts but, I would talk with your Dr's office since you have never had this problem before. Good luck!

I have been on numerous mental health meds throughout the years, some that you mentioned.

I would be certain to contact the prescribing doctor or mental health facility about this. It might not be related to your meds at all and be something to see a primary care doctor about.

Some pharmacists are really helpful with this type of question , too.

Whatever you do, I would start with either one of these for information, then keep on until I resolved what is wrong.

And, yes, stress and other you mentioned can wreak havoc on you, especially after prolonged periods of time. I have lived that.

Take care.

I think you are on too many meds. One doctor does not talk to another doctor. It is up to you to tell whoever is prescribing you all these meds, all that you are taking. You do need a medication adjustment.
